Incentives for Consumers

Consumers may be eligible for a $150 rebate towards a whole-house test-in energy solution for the first 1,000 homes participating in KY Home Performance (KHP), plus a free whole-house test-out evaluation. Test-in evaluations must be performed by a participating KY Home Performance BPI-certified (Building Performance Institute) Building Analyst. Test-out evaluations will be provided by a third-party independent quality assurance provider.

Consumers may be eligible for special rebates of up to $2,000 for the installation of approved energy-efficient measures made to single-family residences participating in KY Home Performance. Homeowners may receive a one dollar rebate for every four dollars of personal investment of qualified retrofits.

Consumers may be eligible to apply for below-market unsecured loan in lieu of rebates for the installation of approved energy-efficient measures made to single-family residences participating in KHP. For homeowners who may not have the up-front funds for energy-efficient measures, KHP can buy down the interest rate to 6.99 percent. Loan terms cannot exceed ten years of the life of the energy efficiency equipment installed. Minimum credit score of 640, terms and other conditions apply.

Consumer may also qualify for additional rebates for qualifying improvements from participating utility providers as well as available state and federal tax credits.
